Description Oakdale is hiring for entry level and lateral police officer positions. Lateral candidates pay commensurate with experience along, with front-loaded Paid Time Off based on previous service, and an accelerated FTO process. Why join Oakdale Police? Patrol Division works a wellness concept schedule. In addition to generous PTO and benefits packages, the city will pay you up to 78 hours wellness hours in lieu of owing time. Expectations Respond to calls for service; handles citizen complaints, problem solving, making custodial arrests, and issuing summons. Knowledge of state law and local ordinance. Ability to drive and operate emergency vehicles. Ability to handle volatile persons, defend self and others, and testify. Investigates reports of crime, interview victims, suspects and others involved, collects evidence, packages cases for prosecution. Complete paperwork, reports and case management, and training. Patrol city streets, neighborhoods, businesses, parks, and conducts traffic enforcement and issue citations. Knowledge of city geography. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education Associate degree in Law Enforcement/ Criminal Justice Experience One (1) year experience in Law Enforcement Trainings, Certificates, and Licenses Minnesota Police Officers license Valid Drivers License with a driving record that is acceptable to the City’s insurance carrier Use of force training Police field training Desired Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement/ Criminal Justice Experience Two (2) years law enforcement field experience Trainings, Certificates, and Licenses BCA certification Data Practices Notice In accordance with the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, the City of Oakdale is required to inform you of your rights as they relate to the private or confidential information collected from you.
