PSPM Summer PLUS Group Leader (26-27SY) Location/Department: Assigned School Reports To: PSPM Director FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Start Date: May 4, 2026 End Date: July 24, 2026 Position Type: Temporary Part Time Salary: $15.60 per hour Hiring Organization: Henderson County Schools (location TBD) Job Description Responsible for planning activities and supervising children after school. Assists the PSPM Director with individual students or small groups, monitors student behavior, and performs related duties as assigned. Essential Duties Visually supervise and interact with specific groups of children. Ensure the physical safety of all children. Meet developmental needs of children at various ages. Accommodate individual needs for rest, relaxation, physical activity, social interaction, and study. Requirements Qualifications: Minimum 18 years of age. High School Diploma or GED. Willingness to earn Basic School Age Care, Playground Safety, CPR, and First Aid certifications; complete NC Health Exam Certificate. Positive disposition, patience, and genuine love for children. Ability to accept and follow direction of the Site Specialist. Self‑starter and reliable attendance. High school or trade school degree preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: General knowledge of early childhood education/child care practices. Skill in using classroom and instructional equipment. Skill operating standard classroom equipment and software. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, students, and parents. Physical Requirements: Regular exertion up to 25 pounds, frequent up to 10 pounds, occasional up to 50 pounds. Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting, smelling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
