Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations and intake interviews to assess client needs and formulate treatment objectives.

• Develop and implement customized treatment plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, integrating evidence-based practices aligned with client goals.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing therapeutic techniques that promote emotional healing and recovery.
\n
• Monitor client progress throughout the treatment journey, making necessary adjustments to intervention strategies based on feedback and observed outcomes.

• Collaborate with a range of healthcare professionals including psychiatrists, medical doctors, nurses, and social workers to enhance client care.

• Provide appropriate referrals and follow-up care for clients requiring additional support or hospitalization.

• Identify and address potential barriers to recovery, working closely with clients and families to foster a supportive environment.

• Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in team meetings and case consultations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our clients come from various backgrounds and present a wide spectrum of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and co-occurring disorders. As a Mental Health Counselor at Wisdom Within, you will have the opportunity to work with diverse populations, including adults, adolescents, and families. You will be instrumental in helping clients navigate their challenges and develop coping strategies that promote resilience and well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current, valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.

• Completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) with passing scores.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on empathy and active listening.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor or in a clinical setting, ideally within outpatient services.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to ensure accurate documentation and client tracking.

• Knowledge and experience in managing clients with addiction disorders, as well as understanding the interplay between physical health and mental well-being.

• Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Strong understanding of psychotropic medications and their effects as prescribed by medical professionals.
