Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to diverse age groups within the ER, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
• Collaborate with physicians and the broader health care team to coordinate timely, safe patient care.
• Monitor patient conditions, interpret telemetry, administer medications and treatments per the plan of care, and respond to emergencies.
• Perform accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and participate in discharge planning and patient education.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort, escalate issues as needed, and delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff per scope of practice.

Requirements

• Active California RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required at time of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required at time of hire; Interventions may include TNCC within 1 year and IV Sedation competency within 6 months for ER scope.
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER/acute care nursing experience; demonstrated competency in Dysrhythmia during orientation.
• Proficiency with Epic or EMR systems preferred.
