Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Special Education Teacher (Multiple Openings)
Location: Flint, MI
School Year: 2026–2027 (August 17, 2026 – June 11, 2027)
Schedule: 35 hours per week
Position Type: Full-Time, Onsite
Our education staffing team is partnering with a Michigan school district to fill multiple Special Education Teacher openings for the 2026–2027 school year.
Available Openings
Self-Contained Classrooms
Cognitive Impairment (CI): 5 openings (K–12)
Emotional Impairment (EI): 1 opening (Middle School)
Resource Classrooms
5 openings (K–12)
Learning Disabilities (LD) endorsement preferred
EI and CI endorsements accepted
Caseloads may vary based on district needs. Self-contained classrooms serve a maximum of 22 students.
Qualifications
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate
Official university transcripts required
LD endorsement preferred
EI and/or CI endorsements strongly preferred
MDE ZA (Early Childhood Special Education) endorsement plus an additional Special Education endorsement is a plus
Comfortable working in an urban school district setting
Preferred Knowledge & Experience
Understanding of MARSE and IDEA regulations
Experience with IEP development and implementation
Strong classroom management and behavior support skills
Ability to collaborate with families, support staff, and multidisciplinary teams
Support Provided
Teachers will have access to extensive district support, including:
School-based Special Education teams
Learning Support Services (LSS) department
Classroom and 1:1 paraprofessional support, when applicable
Building-based behavior specialists
Mentorship and professional development opportunities
Academic and instructional training
