Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Multiple contract openings are available for passionate Special Education Teachers to work onsite in self-contained and resource classrooms designed for K-12th grade students. Key Qualifications & Desired Background:

• Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with Learning Disabilities (LD) endorsement preferred; Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitively Impaired (CI), or MDE ZA (Early Childhood) plus another Special Education endorsement are desirable.
• Prior experience instructing students with cognitive or emotional impairments is a plus.
• Comfortable working onsite in an urban educational setting; these are not virtual positions.
• Able to provide official university transcripts prior to district consideration.
• Flexibility with caseload assignments according to school needs.
• Commitment to support students in K-12 self-contained or resource settings.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs for students with diverse learning needs.
• Skillfully manage a maximum of 22 students per class, ensuring a supportive and organized learning environment.
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, school teams, and families to promote student progress.
• Assess and monitor student growth, adjusting instructional approaches as needed.
• Maintain accurate reporting for compliance and participate in regular parent and team meetings.
• Adapt curriculum strategies to effectively support various learning abilities.
