Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Multiple contract openings are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers in self-contained, resource, and specialized support classrooms for the upcoming academic year. Serving up to 22 students per classroom, these roles play a crucial part in shaping the educational journey for K-12 students with cognitive or emotional impairments.

Assignment dates span the entire 2026–2027 school year, with positions offering a steady 35-hour week and an onsite presence in a well-supported urban district. You'll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, with access to resources such as paraprofessionals, behavioral specialists, and a strong mentor network. Professional development and ongoing training from a knowledgeable Academics team will also support your growth and effectiveness in the classroom.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, ideally with endorsements in Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitive Impairment (CI), Learning Disabilities (LD), or Early Childhood (ZA) plus another special education area
• Relevant experience in K-12 special education settings, especially with urban student populations
• Understanding of Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA Federal Regulations
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Adaptability to varying caseloads and classroom environments
• Official university transcripts (required for submission)
