Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Embark on a rewarding journey empowering students with diverse learning needs in vibrant urban school settings near Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit. We're seeking passionate Special Education Teachers for multiple full-time contract positions for the 2026-2027 school year (August to June). These openings cover both self-contained and resource classrooms, working with K-12 students identified with Cognitive or Emotional Impairments, as well as those with Learning Disabilities. Classrooms are capped at 22 students to ensure manageability and support.

What We're Looking For:

• Active Michigan Teacher Certificate
• Preferred endorsements: Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitive Impairment (CI), or MDE ZA (Early Childhood) and at least one additional Special Education area
• Resource room candidates may hold LD, EI, or CI endorsements
• Experience with or a strong understanding of Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA federal regulations
• Compassionate educators with a commitment to the success of urban students
• Strong classroom management skills and adaptability; previous urban district experience highly valued
• Ability to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

What You’ll Do:

• Lead instruction in self-contained or resource classrooms, delivering differentiated lessons to meet each learner’s unique needs
• Collaborate with classroom paraprofessionals, behavior specialists, and other onsite support staff
• Engage with a robust school-based special education team, including access to LSS departments and mentorship
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training provided by the Academics team
• Develop and adapt Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Communicate effectively with students’ families, supporting them with relevant resources
