Business System Analyst

Business Systems Analyst (Data & Analytics)
Location: Woodland Hills, CA (Remote/Hybrid) Type: Contract
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst(BSA) with 5+ years of experience and strong expertise in Data & Analytics, preferably within the Healthcare / Pharmacy (Rx) domain. The ideal candidate will work closely with Scrum teams, business stakeholders, and cross-functional IT teams to deliver Data Engineering, Reporting, and Analytics solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and data-driven decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to data engineering and analytics solutions
- Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements for development teams Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams
- Facilitate workshops, requirement discussions, and stakeholder sign-offs Data & Analytics
- Delivery Drive delivery of Data Engineering, Reporting, and Analytics projects
- Work with teams on data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouse solutions Support development of reports and dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Ensure data accuracy, validation, and reconciliation across systems Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with data engineers, architects, QA teams, and business teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Work across multiple IT teams and business units to ensure seamless execution
- Drive alignment between data architecture, reporting, and business needs Healthcare / Domain
Responsibilities (Preferred)
- Work with Healthcare / PBM / Rx datasets (claims, benefits, membership, provider data)
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance standards (HIPAA, EDI transactions)
- Support data-driven use cases in member services, pharmacy benefits, and analytics reporting
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Product Owner / Business Systems Analyst roles
- Strong experience in Data & Analytics / Data Engineering projects
- Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Hands-on Experience With:
- User story creation, backlog management, and Agile ceremonies SQL and data analysis concepts ETL/ELT and data warehousing concepts
- Experience with reporting and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos)
- Strong experience working with cross-functional and distributed teams
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills :
- Prior experience in Healthcare / Pharmacy (Rx) domain (Elevance preferred)
- Knowledge of: Claims, Membership, Provider, Benefits data HIPAA / EDI (834, 835, 837 transactions)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Snowflake)
- Experience with data pipeline orchestration and APIs
