LPN - Graduate Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Wilkes-Barre)

Job Summary Geisinger offers a full‑time Inpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley campus. The role includes a $10,000 sign‑on bonus for eligible candidates and up to $40,000 in financial support to become an RN. Compensation may include up to $5 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Job Duties & Responsibilities Contribute data to assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Promote adaptive responses of patients and families to achieve the highest level of patient care, promote safety, and maximize satisfaction. Provide compassionate care during patient–nurse interactions. Coordinate patient care and staff interactions. Meet qualifications to provide care for patients in assigned unit. Contribute data to assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards. Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families. Reinforce patient and family education and discharge planning. Provide direct patient care, including treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies per policy and procedure. Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and plan of care based on patient response. Initiate collaboration with physicians, ancillary personnel, and interdisciplinary team members to resolve needs. Participate in unit-based decision-making regarding utilization of evidence‑based practice. Provide input to manager for performance appraisals of care delivery team members. Precept and mentor new staff and students in a professional, positive manner. Qualifications Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Nursing (required). Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and Basic Life Support certification. Strong communication, computer literacy, customer service, multitasking, and teamwork skills.
