Senior Software Development Engineer In TestBoston, MA (Hybrid)The Senior SDET will review functional requirements, user stories and test assets from internal stakeholders; build automated test cases, contribute to our test pipelines, and support the maintenance of the test assets as we deliver our releases to our growing client base.ResponsibilitiesApply expertise in specific product areas to ensure that the product suite meets documented acceptance criteria and client quality expectationsContribute to the expansion of our automated testing capabilities and coverageExplore and implement AI-assisted testing strategies to enable, enhance, and augment QE team workflows and processes through skill development and agentic workflowsEvaluate and champion AI/ML tooling (e.g. test generation, defect prediction, intelligent test selection) to improve team velocity and quality coverageInstill QA best practices on your scrum team by collaborating on test coverageAbility to write tests from abstract requirementsProvide feedback on product performance and user experienceParticipate in all aspects of the Agile SDLC; providing constructive feedback during grooming, retrospectives, and planning sessionsConfigure and verify continuous build plans in Jenkins and SonarQube to ensure quality of code changesContribute to the review of product documentation/release notesSkills & Requirements7+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience, ideally with a focus in Financial Technology or related domainExperience working in a successful Agile environment using Agile SDLC tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, and JenkinsFoundational understanding of Git and GitHub, including pull requests, branching strategies, and code review workflowsExperience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipeline automation and test workflow orchestrationCoded UI Automation experience with Selenium WebDriver; Python and Pytest requiredWorking knowledge of a scripting language; Groovy and Ruby on Rails a plusExperience with web service and API testing (Postman or equivalent)Performance testing experience; JMeter or Locust.io a plusSQL experience (MSSQL, Postgres)Experience with containerized environments and deployment tooling (Docker, Gradle)Familiarity with AI-assisted development and testing tools (e.g. Claude Code, AI-driven test generation, or LLM-based QA tooling)Demonstrated ability to operate on a small team in a fast-paced environment with the ability to change directions as priorities shiftPositive attitude with a strong desire to learn, grow professionally, and have a positive impact on the company, its culture, and its productsDesired SkillsFamiliarity with code quality and static analysis tools such as SonarQubeExperience with monitoring and observability tooling, including APM, log collection/analysis, InfluxDB, and GrafanaUnderstanding of the deployment and maintenance of an N-Tier application in either manual or automated fashionFamiliarity with testing in Spring frameworksIntegration testing: inbound file processing, outbound file creation, API testing, configuration testingExperience with Financial technologies such as FIX, IDC, Reuters, Morningstar, or BloombergAbility to troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve, and explain system-level issues affecting the applicationAbility to work across teams and disciplines to find equitable solutions to problems that ariseExperience applying AI/ML techniques to quality engineering challenges such as flaky test detection, risk-based test prioritization, or automated root cause analysisEducationBS degree in Finance, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience. Compensation for this role depends on several factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, job scope and location.
