Inventory Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Specialist for a contract opportunity in Orlando, FL, supporting merchandise, inventory planning, purchasing, and vendor coordination functions within a well-known travel, tourism, entertainment, and hospitality environment.

This role is ideal for a professional with experience in inventory management, merchandising, purchasing, retail operations, supply chain, or administrative support who enjoys working with data, purchase orders, vendor communication, and inventory systems. The Inventory Specialist will partner closely with corporate merchandise, planning and allocation, systems, and accounts payable teams to help keep merchandise flowing accurately and on schedule.

This is a strong opportunity to gain hands-on experience with corporate inventory processes, SAP-related activities, vendor setup, purchase order tracking, invoice review, and replenishment support. Candidates can expect a collaborative office environment, supportive team interaction, and exposure to multiple areas of merchandise operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Create, update, and maintain new and replenishment purchase orders.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams regarding shipping schedules, deadlines, order status, and potential delays.
- Support vendor setup and maintenance for auto-replenishment programs.
- Validate UPC information, process inventory transfers, and assist with inventory-related activities.
- Review invoices, goods receipts, and purchase order information for accuracy.
- Research and help resolve accounts payable, vendor, and inventory discrepancies.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $17.50 to $21 per hour.
- Position type: Contract, temporary assignment.
- Assignment length: 6 to 7+ months.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Work arrangement: 100% in office.
- Location: Orlando, FL.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Create, maintain, and track purchase orders for new and replenishment merchandise.
- Support vendor communication, shipping schedules, and order follow-up.
- Assist with inventory transfers, UPC validation, invoice review, and discrepancy resolution.
- Provide administrative and systems support to merchandise, inventory, and planning teams.
- High School Diploma required.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred in inventory, merchandising, purchasing, supply chain, retail operations, logistics, or related administrative support.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to review and analyze purchase order, invoice, inventory, and vendor information.
- Strong communication and customer service skills for working with vendors and internal teams.
- Excellent organization, time management, follow-through, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume office environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Previous experience supporting merchandise planning, retail inventory, purchasing, accounts payable, or vendor management.
- Experience with auto-replenishment programs, UPC validation, goods receipts, or inventory transfer processes.
- Ability to take initiative, adapt quickly, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
