Actalent Accessioning Technician

Actalent is looking to hire an accessioning technician located in Dallas, TX!

Job description:

• Receive, unpack, and process clinical and COVID-19 specimens from various collection sites, branches, and ports.
• Verify specimen labels, requisitions, and accompanying documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Review specimens to ensure all required information is present and correct before processing.
• Prepare specimens for testing, including:
  • Staging specimens
  • Centrifugation
  • Serum separation
  • Blood smear preparation
• Route specimens to the appropriate laboratory departments for analysis.
• Perform data entry of test requisition and specimen information into laboratory systems.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards while processing approximately 200–450 specimens per day.
• Identify and escalate specimen discrepancies or missing information.
• Follow all laboratory safety, quality, and compliance procedures.
• Maintain an organized and efficient work area.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:30pm-6:30am

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
