Make an impact supporting student learning as a school paraprofessional in a dynamic educational environment near Berkeley, CA. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Experience working or volunteering with school-aged children, preferably in an educational or childcare setting
- Ability to assist with classroom management and student support
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and staff
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability in responding to diverse student needs
- High school diploma or equivalency required; relevant certifications or coursework a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instructional and behavioral support to students under the supervision of classroom teachers
- Assist with group and one-on-one instructional activities, adapting materials and assignments as needed
- Support students with special needs or individualized education plans (IEPs) to foster their participation and progress
- Help maintain an organized, safe, and harmonious classroom environment
- Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, or arrival/dismissal times, ensuring their wellbeing
- Contribute to a respectful, culturally responsive atmosphere that encourages student growth
