Job Title: Office Manager
Location: San Diego, CA (onsite)
We're building the Android of self-driving cars. We own our stack, from training state-of-the-art machine learning models on our own infrastructure to building the operating system, designing the hardware, and manufacturing it.
We don't care where you went to school, or even if you went to school. We don't care if you have a traditional background. We're looking for people who can independently contribute to keeping comma's daily operations running smoothly. A building leak? You're on it. Comma cars need maintenance? You're on it. We need to figure out the logistics of getting a large machine into the office; you're on it. Must be practical and able to problem-solve.
What you'll do
- Handle day-to-day operations to keep the office and team running
- Finance basics like invoices, payments, and keeping things organized for accounting and taxes
- Run people ops: onboarding, offboarding, benefits, and team events
- Logistics: shipping, receiving, vendor coordination, and maintenance for comma's fleet
- Take on one-off projects that don't fit anywhere else but still need an owner
You should apply if
- You're comfortable with basic finance concepts (expenses, invoices, simple budgets) and willing to learn more as needed.
- You've handled operations, office management, facilities, or similar work where things break, pile up, and still need to get done.
- You don't wait to be told what to do, and you can juggle five unrelated problems without dropping the important one.
- Bonus if you have Shopify experience
