Rehabilitation Therapy - Physical Therapist

PT Location: Atascadero, California Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM x 5 Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension Pay Rate: $52 - $56/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PT for a temporary assignment in Atascadero, California. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a PT:

Hold license as a Physical Therapist in the state in which you intend to work Maintain and update PT skills and certifications as necessary Evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs Utilize Electronic Medical Record to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries for patient files Guide and monitor patient care in all aspects of treatment and follow-up Supervise PT Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient care Communicate with physicians and other persons to ensure quality patient care Correspond with co-workers and other offices via phone, fax, and email Be responsible for accurate patient chart documentation and follow-up regarding prescriptions, test results, authorizations, etc. Ensure patients are comfortable and answer questions when necessary Work closely with front office staff regarding scheduling and patient follow-up Have computer skills necessary to complete job requirements including typing, Word, Internet, and EMR Be able to make independent decisions regarding patient care Be involved in the business marketing and referral process when necessary Follow HIPAA policy and procedure Be familiar with PT billing policy and procedure regarding Medicare, work-comp, private, auto, liens, and cash pay Be proficient in DX and ICD-10 coding for the billing of services Be physically mobile, including a combination of stool sitting, walking, and prolonged standing for 8-10 hour work days Be able to lift 50 pounds and assist moving patients with mobility restraints, assist patients with transferring, and provide stand-by assistance and recovery with patient walking safety Protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with federal and state law and company policies Access protected health information only to the extent necessary to complete job duties Report any concerns regarding patient privacy policies and observed violations to the designated Privacy Officer Actively participate in company privacy training Communicate privacy policy information to coworkers, students, patients, and others in accordance with company policy Comply with OSHA, federal, and state regulations
