Chef de Partie

We're hiring a chef de partie to work production and events.

ilixr creates private culinary experiences in Chicago and wherever our clients take us, from a small, intimate dinner at home to a vibrant wedding for 500. There's no dining room and no set menu. Each one is written for a specific client and cooked in the space they've chosen, so the work changes with every event.

Part of your week is in our production kitchen, prepping from written specs for what's coming up. The rest is on site: setting up a station, finishing and plating during service, breaking down after. You'll pack out for events so nothing gets forgotten, and you'll work alongside part-time event cooks and help them hit the mark.

The schedule follows our bookings rather than a fixed restaurant week. Some weeks will be 50 hours, and others will be 30.

Requirements:

Three or more years in a professional kitchen. Fine dining preferred.
Off-premise or event experience helps.
Valid driver's license.
Lift 50 lbs, load and unload a vehicle, and stand through a long event day.
Illinois Food Handler certificate, or get it before your first shift.
Available evenings and weekends when events need you.
