Work Environment\n

This role operates in a fully remote telehealth setting, allowing for flexibility and accessibility in delivering mental health services to clients. You will engage with clients through virtual counseling sessions, utilizing secure electronic health record (EHR) systems, like AVATAR, to maintain a comprehensive record of client interactions and treatment progress. The nature of remote work necessitates strong technical skills and comfort with virtual communication platforms to facilitate effective interactions with clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews and document all case details from initial consultation to the completion of treatment.

• Assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health through evaluations to determine suitable treatment strategies.

• Develop individualized recovery plans that cater to the unique needs of individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring that therapeutic goals are clearly defined.

• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing diverse therapeutic techniques to engage clients and enhance their coping skills.
\n
• Regularly monitor client progress throughout their treatment plans, adjusting interventions as necessary based on feedback and performance.

• Collaborate closely with other mental health professionals, such as psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to create coordinated intervention plans that holistically address client needs.

• Follow-up consultations with psychiatrists regarding clients who have been hospitalized to ensure continuity of care.

• Proactively identify and mitigate behaviors that may hinder a client’s recovery process.

• Offer guidance and support to family members and primary caregivers, equipping them with strategies to handle mental health challenges effectively.

In this role, you will work with a diverse range of clients facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and substance abuse. Our client base reflects the community in Morristown and the surrounding areas, encompassing different age groups, backgrounds, and cultural identities. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your ability to relate to clients and tailor therapy approaches will be critical in fostering trust and encouraging resilience.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Possession of a valid and current state licensure (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) to practice as a mental health counselor.

• Successful completion of examinations such as the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Solid prior experience as a mental health counselor, demonstrating proficiency in counseling methodologies and client engagement.

• Familiarity with electronic health records systems, especially AVATAR, to ensure accurate documentation and management of client files.

• Understanding of common physical and emotional health conditions as well as addiction disorders.

• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) standards and best practices.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine empathetic disposition that fosters client trust.
