Power Bi Developer

We are seeking a Power BI Developer with strong experience in the insurance domain and hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Fabric . This role will focus on designing, developing, and optimizing scalable Power BI solutions that support data‑driven decision‑making across underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, and operations teams. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of insurance data, modern BI architecture, and the Microsoft analytics ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to insurance business users Leverage Microsoft Fabric components (Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, OneLake, Dataflows Gen2) to build end‑to‑end analytics solutions Develop and optimize DAX measures and calculations for performance and accuracy Collaborate with data engineering teams to model and consume data from Fabric, Azure, and on‑prem sources Translate insurance business requirements into technical BI solutions Implement data governance, security, and row‑level security (RLS) within Power BI Optimize datasets for performance, scalability, and refresh efficiency Support UAT, production deployments, and ongoing enhancements Document data models, metrics, and reporting standards Required Skills & Qualifications 5 years of experience as a Power BI Developer or BI Engineer Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Power BI (Desktop, Service, Deployment Pipelines) Proven experience working with Microsoft Fabric Advanced proficiency in DAX , Power Query (M), and data modeling Solid SQL skills and experience working with large datasets Experience in the Insurance domain (P&C, Life, Health, or Reinsurance) Strong understanding of insurance KPIs such as claims, loss ratios, premiums, underwriting, and policy lifecycle Experience implementing security and governance in BI solutions Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills Preferred Experience with Azure Data Services (ADF, Azure SQL, Synapse) Familiarity with data engineering concepts and ELT pipelines Exposure to semantic modeling and enterprise reporting standards Experience in Agile/Scrum environments Power BI certification or Microsoft Fabric certification What Success Looks Like High‑performing, trusted Power BI dashboards adopted by insurance business users Scalable analytics solutions built using Microsoft Fabric Clear, well‑documented metrics aligned with insurance business goals Improved data visibility and decision‑making across the organization #J-18808-Ljbffr Y&L Consulting
