Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night rotation or Nights), 2:1 patient ratio across all shifts, 72-hour orientation

Highlights:

• 24-bed Medical ICU specializing in complex, hemodynamically compromised patients
• Care for diverse patient populations including oncologic emergencies, COPD, ARDS, sepsis, and neuromuscular conditions
• Advanced critical care experience with mechanical ventilation, CRRT, pulmonary artery catheters, arterial lines, and chest tubes
• Epic charting system required; interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Daily census of approximately 23 patients with comprehensive critical care protocols
• Two pre-approved time-off periods available per contract

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of current, acute care Medical ICU experience (must be working consistently within the last 12 months)
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Epic charting system experience required
• Proficiency with ventilator management, IV starts, vasoactive drip titration, and arterial line management
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required (one must be from a manager or formal supervisor)
• Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
• COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Patient Population & Clinical Focus:

This Medical ICU cares for adult and geriatric patients with complex, life-threatening conditions including oncologic emergencies, respiratory failure, ARDS, GI bleeds, drug overdoses, autoimmune disorders, and multisystem organ dysfunction. Nurses provide advanced critical care interventions including chemotherapy administration, clinical trial protocols, plasmapheresis, bronchoscopy and endoscopy support, and comprehensive management of ventilated patients.
