Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric to geriatric age groups using both formal assessments and observational analysis.
- Create tailored treatment approaches that align with each patient's immediate objectives while contemplating their longer-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing dynamics.
- Deliver focused speech therapy sessions that concentrate on enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, voice control, and addressing swallowing concerns.
- Work synergistically with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, healthcare providers, caregivers, and families to forge integrated care strategies.
- Educate patients and families to bolster progress outside the therapy room.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy services, ensuring seamless continuity in the continuum of care.
- Keep accurate, timely records as per state, federal, and organizational requirements.
- Engage in continuous professional development, embracing new knowledge and sharing insights with colleagues.
Education
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are yet to achieve ASHA certification.
Certifications
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification necessity within the first month of employment.
