Medicaid Financial Coordinator (Nassau County)

Skilled Nursing Facilities located in Nassau County, Long Island areseeking Medicaid Financial Coordinators with Medicaid Nursing FacilityExperience or Relatable Medicaid Experience Location: Nassau County Responsibilities include: Processingof Medicaid Applications, Conversions and Recertifications. Meetingwith resident and or representative and analysis of all financialdocuments necessary to process the application. Redirectingof income (NAMI) and monitoring that all necessary forms are completed andsubmitted to Business Office. Remains current with all in house residents’financial status and communicates any barriers to payment to both thefacility and business office. Preparationfor meetings with supervisor and other facility staff to review aging andcurrent resident financial profiles. Ableto work closely with the admissions department to ensure that admissionagreements are completed. Also, the business office to ensure that allfinancial loopholes in securing payment are satisfied. Strongfamiliarity with all aspects of current NYS Medicaid regulations,particularly Suffolk County DSS. Proficiencyin Nursing Facility Programs and Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.Ability to provide information and reports to supervisor and uppermanagement as needed. Interactionwith outside agencies and law firms and representation at fair hearing andguardianship proceedings if necessary. Completion of attorney referrals asneeded. Abilityto develop relationships with outside financial and other institutions toobtain needed documentation. Candidateshould be proactive, a creative thinker and be able to multi-task andcommunicate effectively with residents/families/representatives andfacility staff. Some local travel involved.
