The Lodge at Truitt Homestead is looking for cooks who are passionate about creating memorable dining experiences while exceeding guest expectations. We are seeking a skilled and dependable cook with experience in banquet, buffet, and large scale food production. The ideal candidate is experienced in preparing high-quality meals, producing soups and sauces from scratch, and assisting with menu planning and special event execution. Description of Responsibilities:
- Prepare food items utilizing standardized recipes
- Determine food and supplies needed
- Coordinate meal production with service hours
- Monitor food items for temperature, taste, and quality
- Ensure proper preparation, portioning, and serving of food items per the menu cycle and standardized recipes
- Oversee proper food storage procedures
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties
- Maintain food safety equipment records and food safety temperature records
- Practice all safety and loss prevention measures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Experience:
- High school diploma/GED
- One (1) year job related experience that includes food preparation, full-line menu items, and therapeutic diets
- Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred
Required Skills:
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Interest in working with a senior population
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
