Associate Scientist II

Associate Scientist II position within R&D focused on analytical investigations and particle characterization. The role involves conducting laboratory experiments, analyzing materials using advanced microscopy techniques, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product quality and manufacturing excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute laboratory investigations for particle identification, failure analysis, root cause investigations, and manufacturing process capability
• Design and perform independent experiments applying scientific principles and analytical techniques to routine and complex technical challenges
• Utilize advanced microscopy and spectroscopy tools to characterize materials and support product and process development
• Partner with cross-functional teams across R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to drive scientific solutions and continuous improvement
• Evaluate data, interpret results, and provide technical recommendations influencing project direction and business decisions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years industry experience; or Master's degree in related scientific field
• Hands-on experience with stereomicroscopy, polarized light microscopy (PLM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), FTIR, and Raman spectroscopy
• Strong scientific problem-solving skills with ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment
• U.S. work authorization; unable to sponsor employment visas

Compensation: $88,000-$121,000 base annually
