Bivocational Pastor

Midway Baptist Church in Wichita, KS is seeking a bi-vocational pastor to preach, shepherd, and serve alongside our Elder Team.

Midway Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist congregation seeking to serve and grow as a healthy local church for years to come. Church and Position Information

·      Church governance: Midway Baptist Church is an elder-led congregation. The pastor works as a member of a team of elders who are responsible for the governance of the church congregation.

·      Doctrine: Doctrinally conservative

·      Statement of faith: Candidates must support the Baptist Faith and Message 2000

·      Congregation size: Approximately 60 people

·      Compensation: $500 weekly / $26,000 annually

·      Expected time commitment: Approximately 15-20 hours per week

The pastor of Midway Baptist Church will serve as the primary preacher and as a member of the Elder Team. This role requires faithful preaching, administrative responsibility, and a team-oriented approach to shepherding the church.

Primary responsibilities include:

·      Preach and teach Scripture in faith from the pulpit on Sundays.

·      Serve as a member of the Elder Team, helping lead the church through shared governance, counsel and decision-making.

·      Provide pastoral care for church members, including counseling, hospital visits, spiritual guidance, and personal encouragement.

·      Executing core administrative responsibilities necessary for the function of the church.

·      Help identify and facilitate opportunities for community outreach and congregational involvement.

·      Encourage discipleship, mentorship, and service within the congregation.
