About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Accounting Officer to provide strategic leadership and oversight of its global accounting and finance organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and all applicable regulatory standards. This role also involves overseeing the close processes, maintaining strong internal controls, and partnering with executive leadership to support business strategy, operational decision-making, and growth initiatives. The Chief Accounting Officer will be a key player in driving financial excellence, managing enterprise risk, and optimizing cash flow, as well as leading high-performing accounting and finance teams across the global organization. Applicants for the Chief Accounting Officer position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with an MBA, Master's degree, or other advanced degree preferred. A CPA designation or equivalent professional certification is required, along with 5-7+ years of executive-level leadership experience within clinical research, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences organizations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of technical accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls, and experience in supporting fundraising initiatives, capital structuring activities, and investor relations. The role demands a strategic business partner who can drive process improvements, systems enhancements, and operational efficiencies across the finance function, and who is adept at building scalable processes to support the company's long-term growth objectives.
