Dickman Law Firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support our practice areas, including estate planning, probate, guardianships, business and family law, and local government law. Dickman Law Firm offers a pleasant work environment with an emphasis on technology.
Responsibilities
Draft, format, and file pleadings, motions, and other court documents in family, guardianship, and probate cases.
Maintain organized electronic client files, case calendars, and task lists, ensuring all deadlines are met.
Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
Prepare discovery materials, financial disclosures, and case summaries.
Assist attorneys with hearing and trial preparation.
Manage correspondence, scheduling, and digital document workflows.
Track attorney and staff time accurately and assist with billing entries in the firm’s timekeeping system.
Support case management and billing processes using law firm software.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in family law, guardianship, or probate.
Strong working knowledge of local court procedures and electronic filing systems.
Experience with law firm timekeeping and billing software (such as Clio, Smokeball, PracticePanther, MyCase, or similar).
High proficiency with Microsoft Office, PDF tools, and case/document management systems.
Excellent writing, organization, and communication skills.
Ability to adapt quickly to new software and use technology to streamline workflow.
Detail-oriented and able to work independently in a small, team-oriented office.
Must be able to work onsite daily; this is not a remote or hybrid position.
Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills strongly preferred.
Position Details
Full-time position (Monday–Friday).
