Job DescriptionMontgomery College is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and student-centered leader to serve as the Strategic Student Success Initiatives Director. This position will be eligibleThe Strategic Student Success Initiatives Director provides leadership for the coordination, implementation, and assessment of collegewide student success initiatives that advance student access, belonging, well-being, persistence, completion, and post-completion success. Reporting to the Associate Senior Vice President for Student Success and Strategic Initiatives, the Director develops and leads strategic initiatives focused on basic needs, mental health, parenting students, and other student populations with unique needs while supporting project management and assessment efforts.Working collaboratively with institutional leadership, Academic Affairs, Counseling and Advising, Institutional Research and Effectiveness, Student Life and community partners, the Director ensures that student support initiatives align with the College's strategic plan, enrollment priorities, and student success goals. The Director also develops and provides leadership for strategic partnerships, grant-supported initiatives, and assessment activities that strengthen the College's capacity to support students holistically.This is a full-time, non-bargaining, exempt, Grade 33 position. A typical work schedule is Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening or weekend flex hours. The primary work location is the College’s Central Services location in Rockville, MD. This position is eligible for telework up to one (1) day per week, based on operational needs and following the successful completion of the probationary period.Montgomery College promotes and creates a working and learning environment rooted in the basic tenets of fairness, belonging, and inclusiveness.Key Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to)Coordinates the implementation and assessment of collegewide student success initiatives related to basic needs, mental health, parenting students, and other strategic priorities.Oversees the development, management, and evaluation of strategic partnerships, memoranda of understanding (MOUs), and grant-funded initiatives that expand student access to social support resources.Coordinates collegewide efforts to strengthen wraparound supports, including food security programs, emergency assistance, basic needs initiatives, and other social support resources.Works collaboratively with Counseling and Advising, Academic Affairs, and external partners to develop and coordinate programs and services that promote student well-being and success.Leads the development and coordination of programs supporting parenting students, ensuring services are responsive to student needs and aligned with institutional priorities.Provides project management for Student Affairs strategic initiatives by coordinating cross-functional teams, monitoring timelines, and ensuring successful implementation.Works closely with Institutional Research and Effectiveness and divisional leadership to develop and implement assessment strategies, performance metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.Analyzes student success data and assessment findings to inform continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.Coordinates communication and collaboration across campus partners to strengthen alignment and effective delivery of student support services.Supports grant development, implementation, compliance, and reporting related to student success initiatives.Represents Student Affairs on collegewide committees, initiatives, and external partnerships related to student success and student well-being.Performs other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsMaster's degree in higher education, public administration, social work, counseling, or a related field.Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in student affairs, student success, or a related area within higher education.Experience with grants management, strategic partnerships, program assessment, or project management is preferred.Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated knowledge of student success strategies, student development theory, and higher education practices.Knowledge of basic needs programming, mental health resources, and wraparound student support services.Knowledge of project management, assessment practices, and data analytics.Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives and manage complex, cross-functional projects.Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.The equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the position may be considered.Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship.Hiring Range: Initial salary placement for new hires typically falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range ($88,876 - $122,205), annually and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity.
