Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a 13-week day shift contract at a community hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center in North Carolina.

Details

• 255-bed community hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center; no trauma designation and not a teaching hospital
• Respiratory Care department serving an adult patient population across all units, including potential pediatric cases in the ED
• Average daily census of approximately 225 patients
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
• Floating is required throughout the region, which may include facilities such as Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, any freestanding EDs within the region, and the Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH); floating is non-negotiable and candidates unwilling to float should not apply
• EMR: Epic
• Equipment used includes Servo ventilators, Nitric Oxide, Volara, Airvo 2, and Synclare

Requirements

• RRT credential required (CRT not accepted)
• Active NC licensure required; license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience with ICU, ED, and progressive care skills
• Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the unit specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Epic EMR experience
• Candidate's permanent address must be located at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who have worked a permanent position at any AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before being considered
• Orientation includes facility NEO and 2 days of departmental training
• Schedule is managed on a 6-week cycle
• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; hours not worked due to time off must be made up by extending the contract
• Department is described as a small, family-oriented team with leadership support
• Required scrub color: Royal Blue
