Chief Financial Officer (150MM+ Non profit)

Salary : $350,000–$450,000, depending on experience A nationally recognized, mission-driven organization is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer to lead its finance and accounting function. Reporting to the CEO and partnering closely with the board of directors, this executive will oversee financial strategy, reporting, compliance, treasury, budgeting and long-term planning for a large, complex organization. Must-Haves : CPA strongly preferred Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; MBA preferred 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience , including experience at the CFO, SVP or VP level Large nonprofit or association experience , ideally with a 501(c)(6), public-private partnership or similarly complex organization Experience overseeing an organization with at least $200 million in annual revenue or funding Nonprofit, association, public-private partnership or government-funded organization experience Experience managing complex funding streams, including public funding, partner contributions or restricted funds Strong technical knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, tax and regulatory compliance Experience leading annual audits and Form 990 preparation Board and audit committee presentation experience Proven experience leading and developing accounting and finance teams Responsibilities : Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the CEO, executive leadership team and board of directors Lead the organization’s financial strategy, long-term planning and risk management efforts Oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax and financial operations Manage complex funding streams, contributions, sponsorship revenue and in-kind support Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements Lead the annual financial audit, Form 990 preparation and other required reporting Present financial results, forecasts, risks and recommendations to executive leadership, the board and audit committee Oversee cash flow, reserves, banking relationships and investment activity Partner with operational leaders to develop budgets, evaluate spending and support strategic decision-making Assess financial systems, processes and reporting tools to identify opportunities for improvement Lead, mentor and develop the finance and accounting team Manage the transition from the retiring CFO and ensure the continuity of key financial processes and institutional knowledge Ideal Candidate Profile : The ideal candidate is a strategic but hands‑on finance executive who can operate effectively within a complex, highly visible organization.
