Step into a vital leadership role shaping special education programming and student success in a dynamic school environment. As a Special Education Coordinator/Instructional Coach, you will guide and empower special education teams, promote highly effective teaching strategies, and drive compliance with all relevant regulations to benefit students with disabilities. This full-time contract position is available immediately and extends through May 27, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsements in special education
- Minimum of three years of direct special education experience
- Proven ability to collaborate with administrators, teachers, and support staff
- Strong organizational, communication, and coaching skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and oversee Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to ensure compliance and support best outcomes for students
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to improve instructional practices and expand inclusive opportunities
- Provide ongoing coaching and professional development to special education teachers and related service providers
- Maintain current knowledge of federal and state special education guidelines, coordinating efforts to meet all requirements
- Serve as a liaison between school leadership teams and the Director of Special Education & Student Services
- Support the development and improvement of the district's continuum of services for students with disabilities
