Senior Cost Analyst – Manufacturing Finance

Direct-Hire

$100-130K/yr

Fully Onsite

 

This position is available (onsite) in the Monroe, NC, or Richburg, SC, area. Relocation assistance can be provided.

 

Our client, a global manufacturer of advanced industrial materials, is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst to support the finance function at one of its production facilities. This position serves as the primary accounting and finance partner for the plant, providing operational insights, supporting month-end close, managing inventory and cost accounting activities, and partnering with leadership to drive financial performance and continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary finance resource for the manufacturing facility, providing financial analysis and decision support to operations and leadership.
• Develop and maintain operational rates, cost models, and budgeting/forecasting activities.
• Manage inventory accounting, monitor inventory transactions, reconcile variances, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Support month-end close, financial reporting, and cost analysis.
• Lead annual physical inventory and support ongoing cycle count programs.
• Analyze manufacturing cost variances and partner with operations to identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Track and report cost savings initiatives while evaluating ROI for capital investments and major maintenance projects.
• Review labor and overhead rates, identify improvement opportunities, and support process improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate across finance, accounting, and operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• 10% Travel

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of accounting or cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Expert on cost methodologies
• Experience with inventory accounting and inventory transactions.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, variance analysis, and manufacturing financial controls.
• Experience working with ERP systems; Oracle experience is a plus.
• SQL, project management, CPA, CMA, or MBA are considered strong advantages.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to partner effectively across multiple functions.
