Customer Service Representative (Call Center)

Pay Rate: $20.00 / hour

Position Type: Contract (Estimated 6 months, potential to extend or convert to permanent)

Location: Hybrid / Remote (First 4 weeks onsite in the Greater Phoenix Metro area, followed by 100% remote)

Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated Customer Service Representatives to handle inbound calls regarding compliance, account inquiries, and general informational requests. In this role, you will assist callers in navigating their accounts, educate them on available resources, and update critical information in real time within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls professionally and courteously to resolve Tier 1 customer inquiries.
• Review customer accounts, gather required information, and update multiple computer systems simultaneously.
• Educate customers on online resources, policies, and payment arrangements.
• Document all actions accurately while meeting performance and quality expectations.

Shift & Schedule Details

• Training Schedule (First 4 Weeks Onsite): Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Post-Training Schedule (Remote): Designated shift within call center hours (7:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday – Saturday).
• Saturday Rotation: May include a 4-hour shift on the 2nd or 4th Saturday of the month based on operational needs (agents scheduled on Saturday receive a half-day on Thursday).

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1 consecutive year of recent experience in a fast-paced national call center (e.g., finance, banking, insurance, or telecommunications; dispatch/switchboard roles do not qualify). Candidates should demonstrate stable job history.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required (Associate degree or higher preferred).
• Technical & Core Skills: Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Google Workspace; basic math skills; strong written and verbal communication.
• Work Environment Requirements:
• • Must reside within 1 hour of Phoenix or Tucson and attend Day 1 orientation in person.
  • Must have hardwired internet access with sufficient bandwidth at home.
  • Must have reliable personal transportation to transport issued IT equipment home after training (public transit not permitted for equipment transport).

Background Requirements

Selected candidates must successfully complete pre-employment checks, including state and federal criminal background checks, fingerprinting, and a 5-year tax filing compliance check.
