Senior Solutions Engineer

Role Description

This role sits within Solutions Engineering, focused on delivering scoped, funded commitments that win and keep our largest accounts — shipped as a durable Fleetio product that can be supported like the rest of the platform. If you’re excited by high-impact, high-visibility engineering work:

• This team turns key-account commitments into a real, shippable product so Fleetio can win strategic deals and support those customers long-term.
• The engineers in this role will directly influence outcomes for key accounts and help close some of the largest deals at Fleetio.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails
• 2+ years with React
• Strong experience building and shipping production web applications with a focus on quality and maintainability.
• Experience collaborating with non-technical stakeholders, translating needs into technical plans, and managing expectations.
• Ability to decompose complex requests into milestones and deliver incrementally.
• Strong written communication and comfort working in a remote, async-friendly environment.

Requirements

• Ship high-leverage product improvements that unblock strategic deals and expand what Fleetio can confidently commit to for key accounts.
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success to understand constraints, timelines, and customer workflows; then, turn those needs into clear requirements and implementation plans.
• Build solutions that meet Fleetio’s product and engineering standards (testing, observability, maintainability, documentation).
• Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering peers to make pragmatic scope decisions and deliver iteratively.
• Communicate proactively and clearly about tradeoffs, risks, and timelines.
