Accounting Assistant

SUMMARY

Reports to the Payroll Supervisor. Works in a team environment with Accounting, Tax, Audit, Human Resources, and Workers Compensation personnel and other departments.

The individual is to perform task necessary to process weekly payroll.

The employee is to provide a customer service with high level of respect, understanding and commitment to serve customers and/or suppliers with proper intentions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

• Assist payroll personnel with daily tasks.
• Assist in performance and productivity affecting payroll goals and deadlines.
• Reviews and audits Workforce AutoTime exception reports.
• Provide customer service and/or perform administrative duties within the Payroll department.
• Other responsibilities and duties assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiar with Payroll and/or an automated payroll system.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office, such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Customer service abilities. Should be able to provide prompt and courteous responses to phone calls, emails inquiries, and in person visits.
• Experience in timecard calculations.
• Be able to work independently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, controls, and to talk and hear.
• Must be physically able to walk to all yard locations.
• The noise level in this environment is usually moderate.

ACCOUNTABILIY

• Responsible for accurate and timely processing of assigned payroll transactions related to the above responsibilities.
• Contribute to the development of an improved payroll processing flow.
