Manager, R&D Strategic Partnerships

Illumina seeks a Manager of R&D Strategic Partnerships to lead execution of complex partnership programs. The role requires translating strategic objectives into actionable plans, establishing governance structures, coordinating cross-functional teams, and managing external partner relationships in a matrixed organization.
Responsibilities
- Serve as accountable program manager for assigned partnerships, determining resources and coordinating execution
- Develop integrated program plans covering scope, milestones, budgets, dependencies, and critical paths
- Establish and lead internal and external governance forums with operating cadences and decision processes
- Track commitments, identify and manage risks, facilitate tradeoff decisions, and escalate barriers
- Manage partner relationships as primary external contact and improve reusable partnership tools and practices
Requirements
- 8+ years program management in life sciences, healthcare, or regulated industries
- Experience translating partnership agreements and business objectives into execution plans
- Advanced proficiency with Smartsheet and integrated program management tools
- Ability to structure programs from ambiguous information and manage multiple initiatives
- Strong facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills without direct authority
- Experience with strategic partnerships, clinical implementation, or co-development preferred
Compensation: $129,400 - $194,000 base
