Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract position, based near Elgin and Vernon Hills, IL, offers the opportunity to collaborate in both co-taught and resource classrooms, fostering growth and achievement for 8th graders. As an LBSI-certified Special Education Teacher, you’ll play a key role in a supportive environment, enjoying structured hours and a manageable caseload of approximately 8-10 students in resource classes.

Ideal candidates are self-motivated educators comfortable with independent planning, adept at providing targeted interventions, and ready to make a lasting impact in the lives of students with diverse learning needs.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education licensure (LBSI) for middle school in Illinois
• Experience co-teaching and managing resource classrooms preferred
• Strong skills in differentiation, IEP implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Commitment to inclusive practices and student advocacy

Role Highlights:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support in both co-taught and resource settings for 8th grade students
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of student progress
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
• Attend staff meetings, professional development, and new teacher orientation if onboarded by August 5-11
• Maintain a regular schedule: 7:20 am–2:50 pm (M, T, Th, F) and 7:20 am–3:05 pm (W), with a 30-minute lunch break
