Work Environment\n

This full-time position is remote, providing you with the flexibility to perform your duties from the comfort of your own space while still being an integral part of our school community. You will primarily serve Springfield, Illinois, helping students navigate their mental health needs within a school setting. Your schedule will generally be from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility required for occasional evening shifts, rotating weekends, and being on-call for urgent situations.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for each student, taking into account their individual backgrounds, presenting challenges, and risk factors.

• Collaborate with students to develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at addressing mental health issues while promoting emotional stability and integration within the school community.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused Therapy to effectively treat a variety of mental health concerns.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions to enhance personal development, foster emotional regulation, and teach healthy coping strategies.

• Work alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric-nurse practitioners to coordinate care, ensuring a holistic approach to each student's mental health treatment.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies, employing de-escalation techniques as necessary while making referrals for higher-level care when needed.

• Educate students and their families about mental health issues, treatment options, and available community resources to empower them in their journey towards better mental health.

• Maintain meticulous documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to all legal and ethical standards.

• Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to promote collaboration and enhance clinical skills.

• Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and policies governing mental health practice within educational settings.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will focus on students from diverse backgrounds, many of whom face a myriad of challenges affecting their mental health, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment issues. Understanding the unique dynamics of the school environment is essential for providing effective and empathetic care.

Qualifications\n

• A master's degree in Social Work from an accredited academic institution.

• Current LCSW licensure in the state of Illinois.
\n
• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience, ideally within educational or mental health settings.

• In-depth knowledge of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.

• Proficient in conducting mental health assessments and developing effective treatment plans.
\n
• Demonstrated experience in delivering successful individual and group therapy.

• Strong crisis intervention skills and the ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish strong rapport with students and their families.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficient computer skills.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The position offers a competitive salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, contingent on experience and qualifications.
