As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Credential Desk in Columbia, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and help maintain a secure environment for staff and visitors. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly, and use sound judgment while supporting security-related operations. This is a driving position. Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth residents, and/or contractors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points; verify credentials, authorize access in accordance with established procedures, and maintain required visitor and access-control documentation.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and follow established reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to identify unauthorized access, unusual activity, and/or facility concerns.
• Maintain a professional presence at a government juvenile services location while helping to deter unauthorized entry and supporting a respectful, orderly environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
