Accounting Manager - Legal / Trust Accounting

Position: Accounting Manager – Legal / Trust Accounting Location: Greater Orlando Employment Type: Full-time Position Overview The Accounting Manager – Legal / Trust Accounting will oversee the firm’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with trust accounting regulations and internal controls. This role is responsible for managing accounting processes, legal billing, and financial reporting while collaborating with attorneys, staff, and leadership to maintain accurate and timely financial records. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Responsibilities Manage routine accounting activities, including account reconciliations, monthly and annual closings, and maintaining accurate financial records. Prepare financial reports, assist with budgeting, forecasting, audits, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Oversee legal billing processes, including prebill review, client invoicing, and adherence to client billing standards. Administer trust accounting functions to ensure compliance with regulations and proper segregation of client and firm funds. Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices, reimbursements, and collections. Support payroll administration, verify payroll data accuracy, and liaise with payroll providers. Perform additional accounting, financial, and administrative tasks as assigned. Required Experience/Skills 3-5 years of accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP, accounting best practices, internal controls, and financial reporting principles. Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently. Preferred Experience/Skills Experience in a law firm or professional services environment. Familiarity with legal accounting and billing software. Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred but not required. Continuing education in trust accounting or legal compliance is a plus.
