SAP ABAP Developer

This is an exceptional opportunity to work with an Oil&Gas Services company in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

Pay Rate: Open, depending on experience plus overtime, Medical, Dental and Vision under a W-2 Contract to Hire

Working Model: Hybrid

This position requires 10+ years experience.

This position is responsible for modifying complex SAP programs using the Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) programming language.

Working as a member of the SAP Application Team, responsible for design, code, test, debug, documentation and overall maintenance/development of the SAP programs as defined by business processes.

Position will work directly with technical and functional specialists to provide solution consistent with IT strategic direction and computing platform standards.

Diagnosis of any errors within the live production environment may be needed including root cause analysis and correction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for technical program definition, design, coding, unit testing, technical documentation and walkthroughs for all assigned SAP related projects, to support company business and operational needs.
• Develop approved custom modules within SAP using Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) and other related tools.
• Effectively modify and integrate SAP function modules, respond to and correct production problems, and be willing to be on call (24x7 if necessary) and potentially operate under defined guidelines and service levels.
• Provide established level of service and support of SAP to ensure minimal system downtime.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of the company business needs; translate user requirements into application code.
• Utilize structured methodologies to support tasks.
• Function as a team member and individual contributor.
• Assist as a mentor to fellow staff for SAP Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Possesses proven programming skills within SAP software and associated programming tools.
• Ability to transform business function requirements into technical program specs, and to code, unit test and debug programs.
• Can write custom Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) reports for SAP ECC 6.0 or later.
• Extensive module modification experience with User Exits, IDOC, Workflow, Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) Workbench, RFC, reporting, data dictionary objects.
• Experience with Netweaver tools including Development Studio, Java PDK, Web Dynpro, etc. Ability to work effectively within in a cross-functional, matrix team environment.
• Ability to provide timely and accurate project management updates.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to produce high quality deliverables and work within an environment with competing priorities.
• Demonstrates results-orientation and strong work ethic.

Education and Experience Required:

• Additional coursework demonstrating commitment ongoing skills development desirable.
• Experience working and developing within structured programming environment using 4GL language Hands-on experience developing within SAP and Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP)Experience with one or more full implementations Full lifecycle experience is highly desirable with interface and conversion design/development a plus.
• Experience working directly within SAP modules FI, SD, FSCM, BI, Oil & Gs-IS, OGSD a plus.
