Step into a vital role as a Certified School Nurse (CSN) or CSN student serving students and staff in vibrant school communities near Aurora, IL. We are seeking dedicated individuals to provide comprehensive health support in either a high school (7:15 a.m. – 2:25 p.m.) or elementary school (8:25 a.m. – 3:40 p.m.) setting. This contract assignment spans the upcoming school year, running approximately from August 10, 2026, to May 28, 2027, for 37.5 hours per week. In-person interviews are emphasized for this opportunity.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and PEL endorsement required for Certified School Nurse—candidates must have more than an RN license.
- Current Certified School Nurse (CSN) or actively enrolled in a CSN program.
- Previous school nursing or CSN experience is highly desirable.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish is a substantial plus.
- Demonstrated reliability, excellent attendance, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Flexibility and a collaborative, teamwork-oriented mindset are essential.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the school health office, providing direct student care and first aid as needed.
- Complete detailed medical reviews and maintain accurate health records.
- Participate actively in IEP and 504 planning, offering health-related expertise to support students with special needs.
- Foster positive relationships with students, families, and school staff, emphasizing communication and trust.
- Support a safe and healthy school environment, promoting wellness initiatives and addressing potential health concerns.
