The course is a 3‑unit class taught over the semester. Course Description This course provides foundational knowledge on public health communication, related theory, strategies, and application to planning, implementation, and evaluation of public health communication interventions. It explores the use of mass media and digital technology to influence diverse audiences and stakeholders, emphasizing strategic community‑based partnerships, cultural influences on messaging, and communication models responsive to context and public health‑specific communication needs. Qualifications Master of Public Health (MPH) or Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH). Experience working with college‑level students or teaching at a higher‑learning institution. Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with core faculty and colleagues. Work in California required by the CSU Out‑of‑State Employment Policy. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in Public Health or a closely related field (PhD, MD, DrPH, ScD, JD, etc.). Intercultural competence and commitment to serving the campus community, especially teaching and service. Salary Salary commensurate with degree level and experience. Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 – $6,008 per full‑time month. Lecturer A Schedule: $5,507 – $6,6677 per full‑time month. The hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
