Location: Bossier City, LA (2400 Hospital Drive)

Start Date: 10/05/2026

End Date: 01/02/2027

Shift: 12H Nights (Night Shift)

Hours per Week: 36 hours (4 days one week, 3 days the next)

Employment Type: Travel Contract

Required Licenses/Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Experience: Minimum 1 year of RN experience in acute care, Cardiac/Telemetry experience preferred

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality nursing care for telemetry patients with diverse cardiac and medical diagnoses
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, including reading and responding to cardiac strips
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips, including chest tubes and peritoneal dialysis patients
• Support patient assessments and collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Document patient status accurately in Meditech Expanse EMR
• Assist with patient education on treatments and procedures
• Collaborate with support staff, including charge nurses, techs, and ancillary services

What You Need

Required:

• Current RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• Valid BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• At least 1 year of recent RN experience in acute or telemetry care
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start
• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm recognition and management

Preferred:

• Experience with cardiac drips, chest tubes, dialysis patients, and wound care
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to float and adapt to different unit needs

The telemetry unit is dedicated to cardiac care, providing specialized treatment for patients with a variety of cardiac and medical conditions, including transplant patients and those with CHF, COPD, and other acute diagnoses. The unit is fully equipped with modern EMR systems, IV pumps, and clinical support from a multidisciplinary team, including RT, OT, PT, and speech therapy.
