The Accountant ensures data integrity, analyzes account activity, and helps translate operational activity into accurate financial results. Knowledge of GAAP and oil & gas accounting principles is important. Key Responsibilities General Ledger & Close Maintain general ledger and sub‑ledgers for assigned clients Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close Prepare GAAP‑compliant financial statements and P&L analysis Analysis & Operations Support Investigate account activity and resolve variances Review operational and property‑related reports Support management reporting and financial analysis Maintain fixed asset and oil & gas property records Client & Team Partnership Act as a primary accounting contact for clients Address financial questions and reporting needs Work cross‑functionally to resolve accounting matters Audit, Tax & Process Support Assist with audit and tax documentation requests Use internal systems to complete accounting tasks accuratelyFollow established processes while identifying improvement opportunities Skills Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and GAAP Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) Ability to manage multiple deadlines Detail‑oriented with strong organizational habits Effective communicator and problem solver Comfortable working independently and within a team Adaptable to new systems and technology Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance 3–5 years of accounting experience Background in journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements Experience with fixed assets and property accounting Oil & gas accounting exposure preferred Familiarity with industry‑related accounting software a plus Interested in hearing more?
