Position Overview The Inpatient Medical Oncologist (Oncologist Hospitalist) provides comprehensive inpatient care for adult patients with cancer, collaborating closely with outpatient/primary oncologists, advanced practice providers, nursing/support staff, and other specialists. The role involves overseeing and managing the acute medical care of hospitalized cancer patients, including those undergoing chemotherapy, immunotherapy and clinical trials. It requires handling complex medical conditions, coordinating multi‑disciplinary care, and supporting transitions from hospital to outpatient care. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive inpatient care for adult oncology patients. Collaborate with outpatient oncologists, advanced practice providers, nursing/support staff, and other specialists. Oversee and manage acute medical care of hospitalized patients undergoing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and clinical trials. Handle complex medical conditions and coordinate multi‑disciplinary care. Support transition of patients from hospital to outpatient care. Requirements Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). Completion of accredited Oncology/Hematology Fellowship. Board Certified in Internal Medicine and board‑eligible or certified in Medical Oncology. Ability to meet medical licensure requirements in Ohio. Active certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
