Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized perioperative care to patients recovering from anesthesia in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). Ensure patient safety, comfort, and stability during the immediate post-surgical period.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients' vital signs, pain levels, and overall condition regularly.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed to manage pain and prevent complications.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and healthcare providers to facilitate smooth patient recovery.
• Document patient progress, interventions, and responses accurately in medical records.
• Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and discharge instructions.
• Respond promptly to any emergencies or changes in patient status, providing appropriate interventions.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Proven experience in PACU, surgical units, or post-anesthesia care.
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia types, recovery protocols, and pain management.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple patients in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Availability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekdays and weekends, with call responsibilities.
