Physical Therapist - School Setting in Destrehan, LA

Job Description

Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into an engaging and rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Physical Therapist. In this impactful onsite role, you will be working with students across all grade levels in an itinerant model, making a direct difference in their lives and overall academic experience. Spanning from August 3, 2026, to June 4, 2027, this position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 8AM-4PM, totaling 37.5 hours a week and serving approximately 35 students.

Key Qualifications:

Current Physical Therapist (PT) state license
Experience or strong interest in pediatric or school settings
Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Adaptability traveling between school sites within the district
Commitment to fostering student growth and inclusion

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver direct PT services to students from elementary through high school
Travel between schools to provide support as part of an itinerant service model
Conduct assessments and reevaluations to determine student needs and progress
Develop and document treatment plans aligned with IEP goals
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student outcomes
Maintain accurate records and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
