Physical Therapist - School Setting in Kenner, LA

Job Description

Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a dynamic contract opportunity providing specialized physical therapy support for students of all grade levels in a collaborative educational setting. This onsite role requires a dedicated professional to serve as an itinerant physical therapist, helping approximately 35 students reach their functional and academic goals. The position spans from early August through early June, offering a consistent weekday schedule that helps maintain work-life balance.

What You’ll Bring:

Active Physical Therapist (PT) state license (required)
Experience in school-based therapy strongly preferred
Familiarity supporting diverse caseloads across all grade levels
Strong organizational skills for managing itinerant service delivery
Knowledge of IEPs and experience documenting student progress
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Deliver physical therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs
Travel between school sites as needed to support an itinerant caseload
Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote student success
Monitor and report on student progress and participate in IEP meetings
Maintain thorough, timely documentation in accordance with district guidelines
