Insurance Defense Attorney

Litigation Attorney

Seeking a Litigation Attorney with 3+ years of experience to handle insurance defense and general litigation matters.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Manage insurance defense cases throughout all phases of litigation, including answering complaints, drafting pleadings, and conducting legal research.
• Respond to discovery, attend and defend depositions, and handle motion practice, pretrial conferences, mediations, and hearings.
• Represent clients in court proceedings and conduct jury or court trials as necessary, in conjunction with the managing attorney.
• Negotiate settlements and provide effective case management, prioritization, and client communication.
• Defend accused persons in criminal court throughout Connecticut as needed, collaborating with experienced paralegals and the legal team.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or general litigation.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice in Connecticut State Court; admission to Federal Court is a plus.
• Experience with LexisNexis or Westlaw legal research and hourly billing/timekeeping required.
• Strong legal writing, research, organization, and case management skills. Criminal defense experience is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a team-oriented, accountable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach.
